Rev. Dr. Carlton Andersen has been serving the people of Zion since September of 2012, and enjoys being part of a welcoming congregation. Before coming to Zion he served Lutheran congregations in Farmington, Barnesville and New York Mills, MN. As Pastor of Zion, he puts his focus on preaching and teaching in ways that connect scripture to life, and leading the congregation on its mission for Christ in the Morris area.
Growing up in the Minneapolis metro area, Pr. Carlton received an M.A. degree in Theology from the University of St. Thomas, and his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Luther Seminary in St. Paul. Before his ordination in 2006 he taught religion and theology at two area colleges.
Pr. Carlton met his wife Anna at St. Olaf College, and the couple has been blessed with two children. He enjoys playing the guitar, weight training, following the Vikings (sometimes), and hiking in State Parks with his family.
